We are very excited to announce that The Family Place has been approved by the Vermont Board of Education as a Teen Parent Education program!
For several years, the young parents in our Families Learning Together program have received tutoring and extra academic support while they work to complete their school goals, whether those were finishing high school or starting college. Now, these parents can earn high school credit from the partnering high school for the classes they take here, which counts toward their high school diploma.
Finishing school often falls to the bottom of the list of priorities when you’re a teenager with a baby. Finding the time and energy to attend classes and do homework when you are also trying to support an infant is an intense challenge. Here at The Family Place, program participants find high quality, dependable child care and life skills training in conjunction with academic studies to increase the chances of success on every level.
