Are you a parent, a grandparent, or a guardian? Are you currently receiving services from The Family Place, or have you participated in any programs in the last 2 years?
Would you like to have your voice heard, use your skills, and help build the bridge between The Family Place and the wider community? Would you like to take part in training to build your leadership, communication, advocacy, and other skills while doing this?
Then here is a great opportunity for you!
The Family Place has established a Families Advisory Committee (FAC): a group of engaged parents, grandparents, and guardians with the mission of informing The Family Place’s programs’ designs and services based on their expertise as caregivers and community members.
We are currently looking for new members!
The FAC plays a leading role in developing and promoting new and/or existing events to support The Family Place’s active presence in the community, provides a platform to elevate the voice of all caregivers and offers the opportunity to build leadership skills to support a fair and diverse community for families with young children. We meet once per month to conduct business and hold quarterly socials for the group with and without children. All members receive compensation for attending monthly meetings and we offer support for childcare and transportation as needed.
If this sounds interesting to you, please contact Hayley DeLugach (hayleyd@the-family-place.org) or Lori Stever (loris@the-family-place.org) via email or by phone (802-649-3268) to learn more.
We are looking forward to connecting with you!
