Hello families and caregivers!

My name is Tia Howard and I am the new Parent Education Coordinator here at The Family Place. I am making this transition after 15 years of working with local children and families in multiple settings, most recently being the role of lead teacher in a Montessori based preschool classroom. I started my journey in this field in 2003 when I graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Family Studies and Early Childhood Education. In addition to working with young children and their families, I have also worked with elementary aged children and volunteered as an assistant coach at the high school level. I have also been a parent myself for the past 11 years, the hardest but best job yet!

As the Parent Education Coordinator I will be managing the parenting classes for our Families Learning Together program we have here, overseeing our Welcome Baby program and also running the playgroups that are scheduled here on Monday and Friday mornings. I am also excited to coordinate parenting classes offered to all interested families in the area.

I am so happy to be joining this team of wonderful professionals at The Family Place and dive into some great work with parents and families. I look forward to meeting and interacting with you all on this new journey!
