The Parents Together group is a collaboration between The Family Place and Second Growth with a goal to support parents in recovery while strengthening their parenting skills. Funding is provided by Boyle Community Pediatrics and the Mascoma Savings Bank Foundation.
The group will utilize a skill-building program for seventeen weeks of curriculum with a thirty-minute recovery support group. The goals of the curriculum include enhancing relationships between parents and children, recovery support, improving communication skills and increasing self-care.
Participants of the group will include parents and partners of parenting adults with substance abuse dependence or addiction including those in treatment and recovery.
