This semester, participants in Families Learning Together are taking part in an Expressive Arts class every week. Expressive Arts is a chance to learn a new craft and find another positive avenue for healthy emotional expression. And – it’s fun!
Two weeks ago Kathy Parsonnet of Fraglets Art visited to teach participants about magnetic art. Fraglets art involves moving magnetized painted shapes within a frame to create and re-create as many new designs as you can imagine.
Last week the focus was on Shibori dyeing and students made beautiful scarves under the instruction of our Volunteer Art Teacher, Tracy Smith.
We’re going to do more work with Shibori – onesies and children’s T-shirts are in the future!
